Recently found these old pics and thought I would share. I noticed that there is no picture of the actual equipment. I'll snap one and get it posted shortly.
I basically got the basement to do with what I wanted. Wife didn't want it to look tacky, and I was not allowed to put up stripper poles ![]() She had a preference that speakers and other AV stuff be hidden. There were already 2 bedrooms finished in the basement (one is my home office, the other is the exercise room). Although watching movies and TV was the main focus of this room, I was shooting for a multi-purpose room with as many guy toys as possible, and just a great spot to entertain. The main room has a 5.1 speaker system. Center channel is in the cabinet, the other 4 are in the ceilling. Subwoffer is compact and is in the left lower cabinet. I generally open the door and take out the subwoffer when watching a movie. I also have a second cabinet door with speaker mech on it instead of solid wood that I can swap out if I get tired of doing what I am doing. I also have a second pair of speakers in the bar area so that music can be heard throughout the room when we are entertaining. There is a 42" Plasma in the cabinet, PS3, Wii, Receiver capable of 7.1 if I ever upgrade. Have an 18 foot bar with fridge, microwave, and and sink. Pinball table, Old-school arcade table (80 classic games like Ms Pac-Man and Galaga), and a poker table (which is a little small, but the space was getting tight). Could have gotten a bigger plasma, but I would have had to sacrifice the fireplace. Since I live in Minnesota, that was not an option. For anyone wondering, the guitars are autographed guitars. One is by Paul Stanley (KISS), also have guitars signed by members of Weezer, Fall Out Boy, and All American Rejects. Gives the room a Hard Rock Cafe vibe. And I got them at Target on clearence for $50 each! Here are the pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Edit: Took out the pocket doors and pull out shelf and made room for a 50" Panny G10 1080p!
