If they were now in the HDDVD camp I think we would have heard about it by now after all we knew about Warner & Universal before they did (well almost)! Who knows what their marketing campaign is going to be like (although the offical name is BD nothing to stop them saying something like a high defintion movie on something that looks and feels like a DVD). Or they maybe paranoid (or got intelligence) that a retailer, competitor or just a trouble maker is going for that name. Then again they maybe they are going to the dark side. All should be reveled in a couple of weeks, well 11 days - but who's counting.

Seems official...
Why do they all seem to go to the other side on the last moment? *-*

Maybe they're simply going to use the domain to forward people to pioneerbluray.com or something similar.

I believe I suggested "something similar" and thus a search comes up with this http://www.whois.sc/PioneerBlu-Ray.com - forgive me for forgetting the hyphen. These new registrations of the opposing side domains appear to be nothing more than Pioneer covering all bases, just in case.

Regardless, I'll wait for an official confirmation from Pioneer giving support to HD-DVD before I get the least bit upset. Pulling a handful of companies over to HD-DVD isn't going to save their dying format if they can't convince Disney or Fox to support them as well. And that my friend, ain't happening.

If this was your attempt at scare tactics it has failed. I haven't forgotten that you used to run a pro HD-DVD site.

I only say that last part because I know you already knew about their recent registration of pioneerblu-ray.com as well, yet you neglected to mention it. I noticed from your profile that you now run a Blu-ray site. So I have to wonder why this thread appears to be sour grapes over the failure of HD-DVD to show legitimate signs of life.

Yes but AOD evolved into HD-DVD.

Glad to hear. Still curious as to why you didn't mention that Pioneer also registered pioneerblu-ray.com on the same day they registered pioneerhddvd.com?
