Angry samsung bd-p1400 fireware issues movies not playing

i have 2 movies that will not play at on on this player. Underworld: Rise of the Lycans and The Haunting in Connecticut will not play. i called samsung when underworld would not play. they informed we that they were aware of this problem and they were in the works on making a new update. that was around may 12.now i just picked up haunting in Connecticut and this one wont play.the firmware is the latest on my player.my question is why in the hell are samsung taking so long the release this patch. ya out of the 106 blu ray i have only 2 will not play. but still these movies aren't cheap and i hate the fact that they wont play. also just an fyi i asked samsung if i had to buy a new player and they tols me no.so whats the deal. has anybody else had this problem.

Default Samsung HT-BD2ST

I have the same problem, I last updated my Blu Ray player on March 18th 2009, I bought Haunting in Connecticut and Rise of the Lycans and both dont play. i called Samsung and they told me a update would be up the following week, It has been 3 weeks now and no update. For the hell of it I decided to put in Rise of the Lycans one more time and guess what? It actually played, I was very stunned. I then tried Haunting in CT but that blu ray DVD does not play. This is really annoying because I bought the blu ray to watch movies and now its like im scared to buy movies, they know it is a issue but yet they wont resolve it...very fustrating!

Default new to blu, need help!

I have a sony BDP S350 (no manual ) and the tv is RCA D52W19. the settings must be off because the image is not what I would call blu ray. looks like standard dvd to me.?? I was told to use 1080i not 1080p, how do I check that setting? perhaps thats the issue? my other upconverting dvd player played regular dvds with a nicer image. any suggestions please??? thank you very much!!
