And how do you REALLY feel about digital copies?

Personally, my belief is this: Since you need to enter the code into the computer and have the computer verify that code via the internet anyhow, these Digital Copies should be a downloadable file instead of a disc. They add to the manufacturers shipping charges by adding weight to the package. They also add A TON to landfill sites since 90% of people buying them will never use them anyways.

If I'm gonna watch a film, I'm gonna watch it in high quality large video & surround sound presentation... not on a 3" screen with mono audio!

I always just thought of them as an excuse to mark up the price.

I love digital copies. I don't have a blu-ray player in every room but I can take my laptop wherever I go. I think they are a nice little extra that allows me more freedom to watch the movie.

But if you look at the fact that most movies with a digital copy aren't any higher than movies without a digital copy, you might think differently.

To me, it's just a feature added. And, when I do buy an iTouch or Windows Mobile device, I may actually load all of my digital copies onto it for travel. Of course, if they're time sensitive, I'll just get with technical support or give the studio a call and tell them that I paid for it and they need to give it to me. I'm sure they will ablige.

I find them extremely useful. I only have one blu-ray player and it's set up in the livingroom, if I wanted to watch it in my bedroom I would be out of luck without the digital copy. I can easily stream it from my laptop, either through it's hdmi or flawlessly to an xbox 360. I think you guys just get mad they didn't give us a actual DVD instead.

I would gladly take all of your digital copies, just send them to me

Anyone who would "run out and buy" a Blu-Ray movie to get the digital copy so that they could use it on an mp3 player are....well not very intelligent.

I don't think that's the main reason any one would buy a blu-ray movie, but as a free feature that's pretty useful I don't see the reason to complain

I have no problems with digicopies.

I use them and I listen to them at my office when I don't feel like listening to music.

I have to agree with both sides on this one. I have about 8-9 DC on my laptop, and have actually never used them at all. About everyday I think about just delelting them form my HD, but then aI think what if one day I decide to use it then I'm screwed. Then I think, well, I could just get an external HD and use that for my DC. But then, I think, .......well you know where I'm going with all this. However I hate watching my movie's on a smal screen. thats why I have my HT. That is slowly growing bigger. SO Yea I can see both sides of the story here. I'm not impressed if it doesn't but not impressed if it does. It's not a major seling point for me.

I now own and use an Ipod and PSP yet... I hate digitial copies.

I am tempted to rent the DVD versions of all my Blu Rays that come with DC so that I can run them through the Freeware Handbrake which will make me digital copies without the Digital Rights Management component that makes them mostly un-useable.

I would be ok with it if it came with no added cost. But you all know thats not true. There is extra effort that goes into making these. Personally, I think the only reason why they are doing it is to provide people with a method to get a digital copy without downloading it illegally. It's a miserable attempt at stopping downloaders.

I think they should do it the way they do for DVD's. Provide a version with and without.

The only thing I don't like about them is the disc, I get that it's for verification that you bought it, but still once it expires it's useless so it just sits there in the case

I thought Digital Copies were a neat idea when they first came out but haven't used one in I don't know how long. I'm sure I have 50+ that I never used....that's a lot of wasted discs. I've always wondered why they can't just give you the download code instead of the disc.

P.S. If anybody out there is a fan of digital copies and is looking for any, shoot me a PM or check out my collection. I'm sure we can work something out. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

I wish there is a choice NOT to get the digital copies and even the DVD copy, for $5 to $10 less, it's 2x to 3x the plastic and just going to contribute to global pollution at some time this century. Especially after it expires, it's as good as junk.. Why have expiration dates on this anyway? I don't really want to pay $30 for the deluxe 3 disc edition when it could have been $20. But I could understand because some are disney releases they really do give you "everything"

I will have blu ray wired to play in every room of the house soon
