The Muse 1999 (Albert Brooks)

I noticed no one is chatting about this title. I'm a big Albert Brooks fan, but I didn't even know this had been released, and I noticed there wasn't a Thread.

Has anyone picked it up? How's the Quality?

I love Brooks too and this would be on my "to buy" list but the few reviews I did read on the Universal MOD thread were not too encouraging so I'm waiting to see if any sites, like this one, take it on.

I’ve always really liked this film, especially working in the biz myself, I find it really funny. That said, bought this day 1 and it really is a shoddy transfer. My digital copy looks better. It’s over processed.

Ugh. This gets a release (admittedly a pretty good movie), yet Defending Your Life still MIA in Blu-Ray?!?

If the transfer for the hypothetical DYL was anything like the Muse transfer, I'd gladly wait for someone to do it right.

Is the Digital Copy from some other Company?

It wouldn't take much to do a Nice Albert Brooks Blu-Ray Box Set. He only Wrote and Directed a few movies, Seven, I think...

They could include his six short films for the first season of NBC's Saturday Night Live too. Is there a Collection of these that I don't know about?

Other than the "Season 1" SNL discs (which, at this point, are really really cheap), no. Also, there's one other short he did, for a show called "The Great American Dream Machine". The whole series was put out on a DVD.

What I did was rip them all together and then burn a single disc, just for convenience.

I have the first 4 or 5 Season DVD Box Sets of SNL.

That's a great Idea. Did you rip them as mp4s of avis?
