Thumbs up Volunteering To Feed The Homeless

i am going Saturday, December 12th from 10am - 130pm to cook & serve food for the homeless men, women & children in Fort Lauderdale

hopefully some of you are grateful enough for what you have and can lend a helping hand during the holidays for someone who has nothing.

the feeling you get helping someone out who has nothing is something to be experienced.
what a sense of pride you feel inside knowing youre doing well to others.

3.5 hours of my/your life isnt much to give on a saturday afternoon.

A whole 3.5 hours?

Granted, that's more than most people, but considering there are over 8,500 hours a year, everybody should be able to find time for at least a few hours.

Also, for those who don't know, Disney is trying to encourage people to volunteer, and have a special program where if you volunteer for a day, you get a free 1-day pass to either DisneyLand or Disney World. It starts January 1st, 2010. If you get your whole family to volunteer, it can be well worth your time (though Disney has a limit of 8 people per household).

Give A Day, Get A Disney Day

Back when I was single I used to volunteer on Thanksgiving at our local Salvation Army-and yes it is an incredible feeling to serve others less fortunate than myself. Made me incredibly thankful for what I have. Maybe I'll check into it again with my family again soon......
