Default Question about "True Blood?"

I tried watching "True Blood" a month or so ago and I never got into it. I watched the first two episodes and they just seemed to bore me. Does it get any better than that, because there is a good deal to get them right now?

In other words, if I disliked the first two episodes, will I be into the rest of the season?

No, it doesn't get very much different. If you didn't like the first two I don't think you'll like the later ones.

Yeah it gets better. It was a little rough for me at first, but as soon as I finished season 1, I immediatley downloaded season 2, that's how addicting it gets. The show is one of the best Vampire show on right now.

The problem is that it would be a blind buy, which I rarely do anymore.

I'm between this or "Fringe." I could get "Dexter," but I've been watching that online and I'm not sure if it's worth buying all the seasons or not.

The first two episodes were rocky for me, but after that I really got into it, love the series as well as the books it's based on. I'd stick with it.

I hated the first couple of episodes and stopped watching the show for several months and then one day decided to give it another shot and quickly became addicted. It gets much better after the first few episodes.

I blind bought season 1 last week, watched the first episode & was extremely disappointed. Hopefully it gets better or it'll be my first BD for-sale.

All my friends loved this show, so I downloaded the first season.
Wasn't impressed with the first episode, quite boring.

But then it started to pick up.
I ended up buying the dvds and watched the entire first season.
I personally loved it.
It was suspenseful, thrilling, humorous, sexy, etc, etc.

Also had to double dip and get it on blu ray since it was so cheap at BB!

Like anything, it's a matter of taste. I'm a long-time fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. My wife read the Charlaine Harris books upon which the series is based, and we found the show very entertaining. You may not be so inclined. As others have suggested, you may want to watch a few more episodes to see if the series grows on you.

I forgot to mention I liked the first season and the crazy V kidnapper girl was hot. I still think it's about the same as the first couple eps - obviously the story gets deeper and you get more attached to the characters. Better? If anything it gets goofier.

The first couple episodes (particularly the first one) weren't too hot imo, they weren't bad but they came off a little cheesy/campy to me, but then after that damn do they get good. Back in May my wife and I read the first book on vacation, and blind bought the Blu while we were down there as it launched that week. Season 1 hooked us and I've went on to read the other books because of it, and I can't wait for season 2 to hit BD (we don't have HBO).
