Thread deleted? - Blu-ray Forum

I had a thread of mine that was deleted with no explanation...just wondering what and why threads are deleted and why no one gives me an explanation?

If you are referring to the Transformers 2 thread you started, it was merged with the megathread.

I had one deleted tonight too, but I PM'd a couple of mods relating to that section. I will wait for their response, but I think deleting a thread without any kind of explanation is a bit rude, frankly, and doesn't fit in with the good nature of this site.

A notification of the merger with another thread/deletion to the OP would be nice when things are merged/deleted.

Sort of how you get an email notification when someone posts in a thread your subscribed to.

Is that possible?

Its alright(btw, it wasnt me, I am just helping find it)

Back on that topic of that site, I believe its updated when time permits, which sucks as its very useful and I hate to see it diminish

True, it is a shame. I hope it gets back on track soon

Regarding the whole issue of merging/deleting, as Diesel suggested, would a PM or something be possible?

Didn't there used to be a sticky (or a FAQ bullet) called "Where did my thread/post/message go?" or something to that effect? It may have been a couple of years since I last saw it.

Most moved threads and merged threads have a redirect or a 'ghost' thread that links to it. Of course as people posts it goes further and further to the bottom until it expires.

Also, upon futher thought, THE OFFICE is Universal so its most likely region free without doubt

that is the first thing I looked for. But I could not find it. I still cant see it. Does it automatically get deleted a short time after the move/merge has been done?

In this forum software there are many ways to do things (lots of menus and buttons in several places) and sometimes the same function works different depending on from where you select or start the mod action. As in the case of merging threads, depending where and how you do it (thread itself, forum index, search, telekinesis, etc) one of the various combinations seems to not leave a redirect while the others do. The mods should always try the most complete and complex way but sometimes between banning 78 million Buy a cel phone for 2 dollars spam and vaporizing post

a mod might let a few redirect fish get away by clicking on the one combination that doesn't leave a redirect.

Or maybe we just like to make you search for your posts in perplexed confusion on purpose while we watch and eat
