Default Did this happen with anyone else?

When I was a kid/teenager I played games all the time, for many hours in a sitting. Then one day I only played games like FF, Metal Gear, Zelda and Metriod and that was far and few between.

Every so often I would by a game, play it a couple times and never touch it again. It took me 5 years to finish Metal Gear Solid 2 and I still haven't finished FF 12 or God of War.

Then came the PS3 and I've finshed Ressistance, R&C and Heavenly Sword since I purchassed it. Now I find myself wanting to play more and more.

Now November rolls around and so many good games are coming out this month alone. Not enough time or money

The PS3 is...awesome

It's pretty much the same story for me (except Resistance...online is mostly what I do for this one).

I have been a hardcore gamer since I was a kid and slowed to a casual gamer for the past 4 years or so (mostly Tiger Woods). The game the got me back into gaming....................God of War. I couldn't put the controller down, I beat it in 3 days (amazing for me, those types of games usually take me weeks). So now im on Warhawk at least 4 times a week (1hr+ a day) and have been trying to finish Motorstorm on top of that.

I'm probably the worst person in the world for not finishing games. Across all formats I have\had around 450 games (this only includes consoles) and the number I've played through to finish would probably be less than 20. The most recent of which is Gears of War, which I played through and finished on every difficulty level, and that would be Feb/March time. The closest I've come to finishing a PS3 game is Colin McRae Dirt as I finished the pyramid thing. Haven't even played through Heavenly Sword yet and we all know how short that is

I still don't play much, but when I do it's usually to the end (and for some reason it's always FPS's ) - RFOM, COD3, I've seen a lot of hype for COD4, I might check that out soon. But I'll guarantee right now, if and when it happens (more likely now that NCSOFT is developing for PS3), City of Heroes is going into my collection (yes I know its on PC - how do you think i got addicted in the 1st place?) - 50" HiDef Return of Matt X goodness -

Default i can actually relate to that..

I've been playing video games since my father handed me an NES controller at the age of 2. I used to play everything I could get my hands on, all the time. I'm 19 now and the only games I ever bother to play are my favorite franchises every few years (i.e. Metal Gear, FF, Zelda, Metroid, and Mario). Once I got my PS3, however, I kind of decided to go out there and just go nuts with games like Resistence, COD, The Darkness, Ridge Racer, and so on.

Maybe it's just because it's the first Sony platform I bothered to adopt so early on in its life cycle.

Call of Duty 4 has done something for me that hasn't happened in years: gotten me to actually enjoy multiplayer FPS games online. That's a significant achievement in my book.

I have never played an FPS online. I think I would get killed over and over and over...

I'm thinking of trying it out, soon.

I never really thought of this, but it seems like the only games that I actually sit through and beat are the ones with good writing/ solid storylines... such as Metal Gear Solid, Zelda:OoT/Windwaker, God of War, and FF6,7,9,&10 to name a few. It is a shame that so little games focus on solid writing when looking at the mass flood of video games these days

Can't wait for the next MGS. Assassins Creed sounds interesting as well.

I used to play when I was younger( don't know if you guys remember Rob the robot that came with the NES system back in the 80's) and then gave it up all together but when my boy's got old enough for there first game system I got them a game cube and I find myself playing with them.
Fast foward 1 year later and I gettting Uncharted and Asasasin Creed for the PS3....and thats for me not for them to play with...who would a figure that saying that your wife keep telling ya"why don't you grow up" would be true.

I think Zelda plots are pretty thin but what's there is presented in such a cute, innocent way that it's quite refreshing.

Broken Sword 4 was a big disappointment for me last year, even though puzzling isn't a major focus in Uncharted, I'm hoping the spectacle of the environments and well written dialogue takes me some way back to the classic days of adventure gaming.

I've been doing the same thing. I buy them and play them a couple of hours a day for a week and then I don't play it anymore. There's been a few games I couldn't put away. Like GTA, Metal Gear, Bully, Shenmue 2, The Warriors. Just haven't been able to play them like I once did, and I'm only 26.

Nope exact opposite for me, When I was in Junior high/High school it seemed like all I did was play games logged 95hrs into FF7, played and beat (mostly) RE, Metal Gear Solid, Spyro, Jak, R&C, among countless other RPG's,action, shooting, puzzle, tactical games I could get my hands on.

I would play in the morning (on weekends) take a couple hour break and play more into the evening. I would play whenever I had the time and rarely ever had an unopened game in my possession. I had almost every console, Master System,NES, Genesis,Gameboy, Saturn, PS1,PS2,Gamecube,Xbox, Gameboy advance.

Now? I out of the 14 games I own 3 were never opened, and 2 others were opened but never played even once (and thats just PS3 don't even ask me about my PSP collection) if I play games 2 hours a week thats it (yet my interest in them has not changed) and I only game at night on average between 7PM and 12AM. I spend most of my time either doing College work, being at work, doing side jobs, or work around the house and I am only 23.
