Field of Dreams for me , that ending gets me every time. Also i was surprised by Click, i was not expecting it to be that sentimental.

First of all, I don't mean to say that no one can consider it sentimental or emotionally involving--I respect your opinion.

Like Ebert, I felt the story itself made it very difficult to become emotionally involved with the characters. For the vast majority of Pitt and Blanchett's characters lives, they were on the opposite end of the spectrum in terms of age. That made it very difficult for me to care about their love story at all. I found the concluding scene of them walking together with her being old and him being young to be absolutely ridiculous and laughable. I also felt that Blanchett's character was distinctly unlikeable and I was completely indifferent to Pitt's character. Thus, I felt no emotion in watching the film either then being in awe of the technical qualities and wishing it would end.

And yes, I understand I am in the minority on this site in regards to the film, but such is the subjective nature of film.

[Show spoiler]Interesting argument but you have to understand and hopefully there are no feminists on this site but Daisy exemplified young naive women and as she grew older she became mature. Yes it's odd that they're different ages, but it started off as a strong friendship between two people and was about true love. No matter how they looked or their backgrounds, they still felt feelings which I thought was very nice. Both people had gone through changes in their life and at the end when they've finally matured as human beings they find that deep connection but the end becomes a tragedy as they grow older (or younger) and lose each other but they managed to stick with each other for a long time and will always love each other. In a way it's tragedy but at the end, you're led to believe Ben and Daisy are finally together forever. It's a film about no matter who you are, there's no reason why you should be considered different from others and true love. Maybe if you hate that true love crap, then there's no reason why I can convince you to not hate the movie haha.
Personally I felt that they should have ended it a little better and tied the beginning in more, other than, loved it and thought cinematography was gorgeous. It was snubbed for that overrated flick.

"Somewhere in Time". The score is beautiful and really adds to the movie. It's a great love story.

That is a really well-written and thoughtful response and I definitely respect it. I actually am a fan of true love, as shown on film, but I just did not feel it here. Nice response.

Btw, what overrated flick are you referring to?

Can't even watch that movie.Maybe I can't get past Brad Pitts awful performance, and see if the story has some merits......'Legends of the fall' is also one of those movies which I can't see past Anthony Hopkins performance. But digressing...
