So, I took the plunge and picked up a piece of Wilsonart Designer White for the basement. I got the thicker gauge so that I wouldn't have to worry as much about wrinkles.
My question is with regards to mounting it. I was contemplating just screwing it to the wall (pre-drill holes, use decorative washers, cover them up with black felt). Most other posts (reading some on avsforum) talk about mounting the laminate to a frame first. While this makes it easier to take on & off the wall, is it necessary? A friend I was bouncing ideas off of asked if my wall was perfectly flat - it may not be "perfect", but I don't imagine it would be enough to notice (the thick gauge laminate should smooth out possible wrinkles and there are no big bulges or anything). ![]() Anyone here done the laminate screen? Any thoughts? Suggestions? Cheers! |
