Apple Ipod announcements soon?

I trashed my first gen ipod touch...so I need new one. Isn't Apple's announcement of the new ipods soon?

where would you get an idea like that?

current (likely) rumors have the touch gaining a camera. which i find pretty useless on a mp3 player..but whatever. depending on what they upgrade the processor with it might be worth it. but that seems to be the only upgrade thus far

At some music event on Tuesday, September 8, Apple is expected to announce the following:

iPod Touch 16GB, $199
iPod Touch 32GB, $249
iPod Touch 64GB (finally!), $299.

In these new iPod Touch's, Apple will also throw in the camera from the iPhone 3G S, as well as the speed of the iPhone 3G S.
In addition, the iPod Touch 8GB will no longer be made.

to be honest, I would love to have the camera on the Touch. I just really really hope they give us at least 64GB of mem. I would love it if they came close to 100GB's but I highly doubt they will

Why a camera. I think they should have thought about making it a bluetooth capable that way people could use wireless headphones while exercising. it would be practical but may drive the cost a little bit. Also, it would make it easier to share whatever between the device and your own computer.

ipod touch 2g is bluetooth capable if you upgrade to firmware 3.0 sure it's $9.95 but who cares. i use it all the time. the new ipod will have this feature as standard amd camera would be awesome on the ipod touch IMHO. i mean why not Cameras are in every device these days!

i've never once thought..hey..you know what i need to do while i'm listening to music..take pictures.

but hey..whatever. more features are more features. i would have preferred going the hd radio/oled route that microsoft took...maybe next year

the lame updates will keep me from selling my gen 2 touch tho. doubt i'd sell it for the zune hd either. both have too many shortcomings for how awesome they are. kind of annoying lol

Didn't know that, I am still perfectly happy with my IPOD Video, so never considered to get the touch.

upgrading to the touch is absolutely worth it imo. just don't expect to store your dvd/mp3 collection on it

so do you not use any other apps on the ipod? there are tons of things you can do with an added camera...tons of apps use photo's not to mention uploading photos to myspace, facebook or whatever...ipod touch is more than just a music player

I was just thinking about all but the Touch. Like the nano's and the others besides touch

i got a touch to play games/surf the net..not take pictures i've got a cellphone for that if i really needed it

are you saying you'd rather have a camera than freaking fm radio? because thats the thing i want it to have the most.

if its really got the 3gs' cpu tho..might be worth getting for the ps1 emulator

I can not for the life of me watch a movie on such a small screen, or do I have the time to. Maybe in an airport. But then I will just break out the laptop. Staring at a 3 inch screen would drive me nuts

FM radio would be awesome, but pandora is excellent as well!

I still prefer the Ipod Classic I have over 23,000 songs on mine (160 GB). The Ipod touch is cool but until they get a touch with 100 + GB's I will stick the classic. I will not watch video on such a small screen are you nuts...
