Default Suggestions on HT speakers placement

I have a 5.1 system. The 5 speakers + sub are placed in the only allowable postions. What I'm asking is could the speaker positions be tweeked in any way. That is a loveseat between the back speakers. 66" wide

I only use a 2-channel setup, but your front speakers are misplaced. The right speaker is much further away from the Centre Channel than the left. That is NOT good and you can't be getting a proper balance or imaging. They need to be equidistant from your Centre Channel.

Regarding your rears, personally I believe they need to be raised slightly. The "loveseat" is blocking the woofer. In terms of placement, move them about and find a position that is satisfactory for you. I think they are too far back, but like I said...I'm a 2-channel guy, not that into multi-channel.

Hi John, I widened the distance of the only front speaker I could. I now have equal balance of the fronts from the centre.

As for the backs, I've switched speaker stands with the fronts. Now the rears are taller so the loveseat is not blocking the speakers.

Do you feel the sub is positioned correctly?

Excellent bmwone! I think you'll definately notice an improvement in that respect. With regard to your subwoofer placement, I unfortunately can't advise you as I don't have one (remember I'm a 2-channel music guy). I've heard it said many times that people experiment with various placements. Maybe you could try that.

I would add that BigDaddy knows all about subwoofers and you may want to check out some of his stickies. Or PM him...he's a great guy and will give you real good advice.

Thanks for the feedback. Everything looks more balanced. I live in a condo and have my equipment in the TV room. As you saw in the jpeg, that is the only place to put the TV & gear. Making speaker placement difficult. Thanks ever so much.
