Does anybody know what the status of this release is? I've just clicked on the amazon.fr link and I get a 404 amazon webpage. Is it still going to be released?

There are 2 separate pages with two different cover arts both listed on the Amazon.FR website, but neither are available to order. I'm really hoping that they do eventually release this either stateside or overseas. I own both on DVD and would love more then anything to retire them both.

Same here, and I got Children of Dune hoping I'd be able to get the series when it was meant to be released.

I know there is a French release of Children of Dune a few years ago, but the one review I saw for it a while ago listed on this site said the PQ was terrible, but that has since been removed. There was a German release of Children last month, but no one has reviewed it yet.
Does anybody own this release? I am thinking of ordering it from amazon.fr, but wanted to check it's not upscaled or anything daft like that.
The release is 1080i/50Hz and the animated portions of the miniseries are definitely upscaled. The rest of the live action sequences appear to be hit or miss.

It's definitely an inconsistent transfer. A lot of shots were filmed with cheap video special effects and in standard definition and therefore had to be upscaled. The compression artifacts can be bad in parts( The film is far too long to fit on one blu ray). However, when the 35mm sections are allowed to shine, the colors and details can be quite beautiful. Hopefully, we will see an improved version in the United States in the future.
