Default Need LCD TV Help. Anyone?

My buddy is looking to buy a new LCD flat panel to match up with his PS3 and he wanted me to do some research for him. He found a 46” Sony kdl46xbr2 for $2,699. Is this the best value? Is there a better quality LCD for the price? Who makes the best LCD’s? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Look into Samsung. Sony uses Samsung panels, then ups the price.

Samsung has some very highly-rated units on cnet.com right now.

Sharp has a few 1080p Aquos lcd's for fairly cheap that are really nice. Tell your friend to look up crutchfield.com. They have pretty reasonable prices and great customer service. The extended warranties they offer are the cheapest I have seen as well.

Is Cnet the best place for HDTV reviews?

The reviews are worth reading, but I always feel like reviewers can be biased. I've enjoyed Cnet, and usually balance the user opinions with the reviewer notes. I also like reading epinions.com for information.

Cnet only has an item for a short time, then it's usually gone (depends on what). I like reading consumer feedback the best.
