India/Bollywood The Region C Section.

Not to be rude or anything, but the Region C section of the forum seems to be nothing but bashing quality of Indian Blu-rays. It seems as if no one in this section really appriciate that these films are getting released in this format at all. The studios who make these films could very well just say; "Screw you, DVD and VCD! No Blu-ray!" I think everyone should just relax.

Its no different than any other forum they are demanding quality releases and from what I read one of the authoring company's is sub standard. These are growing pains they are working out. When you pay premium, you demand excellence.

Also keep in mind, you are dealing with different cultures that express themselves differently. What is unruly here may be normal there. I am not making excuses for anyone but without examples or reported posts mods cannot react accordingly.

I remember not so long ago there were numerous uncivil threads in Region A about audio/video complaints etc towards certain studios and undesirable releases. Its only fair they voice their concerns as well in a civil manner. As the saying goes, Squeaky wheel gets the grease

This is my personal opinion on what I have seen so take it for what its worth I am just trying to provide insight on why they are complaining.

I must echo Orlando's concern!

There are at least four industry related members in the Region-C section who have been attempting to generate feedback as to how to improve their output - and they have been severely bashed, not criticized.

In one of the latest threads created there, someone asked how they could improve the quality of Region-C Blu-rays. This is the type of reply they were greeted with - which I assume Orlando and I do not agree constitutes criticism:

Quote:
No Body is interested in betterment for ordinary consumer like us. Nowhere it is mentioned that DVD quality video not to be allowed on BluRay Discs...Best of Luck.
Since last night, when the post was produced, some of the text has been edited, but the original message is still there - it was quoted.

With other words, if there are parties that are somehow involved with Bollywood - who wish to learn what their potential customers demand in terms of quality - that come on this forum and ask for feedback, they should not be automatically scorned because they did not meet certain expectations. I fail to see how else these parties can improve their work if not through seeking feedback, or looking to communicate directly with their potential/future customers.

It all comes down to respect, which is a quality every culture is familiar with!

Pro-B

I think the mods need to take more action, at least with cleaning it up. There's multiple threads for one title. It's all over the place. Jodha Akbar has 8 threads! Seriously!

1) jodha akbar poss next week on Blu-ray
2) Jodhaa Akbar BD info and Screen shots!
3) Jodha Akbar Out in India
4) Rock On and Jodha Akbar Out On Blu-Ray In India Big Pictures
5) First look of Jodha Akbar BD Worlwide Release
6) cheeni kum,mai hoon na,devdas, jodha akbar is next!!!!!!!!??????
7) Jodhaa Akbar ready for global Blu Ray release
8) Jodhaa Akbar

Buddy, Real buyers dont know about the authoring and encoding. He is concerned with the PQ and AQ of the product he bought with high expectations. Authoring company is never selling products to end users. Its the publisher who is approving the PQ and AQ and marketing good or bad product.

Problem is different in this forum. The members- who are connected with various authoring houses are attacking each other to prove that their product is better then the other company. Let them get a bad master from publisher and make a good BD out of it and prove that they are better then the others.New company Shemaroo , never released a BD and being attacked by some members and also being protected by a member who is running another parallel BD forum.

I dont know enough about it to even comment. If you believe there is unnecessary abuse, bashing, etc, Report it. Theres an icon like this in the bottom left corner of every post, explain it and we can react accordingly.

edit-I just now saw something you were referring to, It came after my initial post

That area has gotten so out of control now..I stay far far away...

Instead of members discussing and rationalizing some decisions made by studios they are bashing each other...makes no sense to me..

I honestly think that Region C, at least the Indian titles, needs to be removed and started over. It's getting out of hand. Also, shouldn't the Indian releases have a sub forum since they aren't the "Main" Region C releases? Because of China and Russia?

You are really genius and think about betterment of this forum and the viewer's of Indian BD's.

Your suggestions are really admirable.
But is there anyone who will accepts your suggestions?

No one has been following the rules that has been set in place by the administrators and moderators of this forum. There was like 8 threads for one film. There does not need to be that many threads for one movie. You create one thread and you stick with that until it gets locked by the mods or admin.

Secondly, there is too much bashing about how studios should make these releases. Users have graciously put up stills that look very nice in High Definition and all there I seem to see about 90% of the time is whining that it does not look top notch. Boo hoo, if the studios honestly think this is good enough, then it's good enough. If you don't like it, too bad. A studio will honestly not care if one person stops buying.

Just like with cigarettes, same goes with movie studios, if someone quits then another one will take their place. You quit watching, then someone else will. There was no need for an attack like that on my opinion. You could have said; "There could be some possible moderation on how some users act in the Region C Section."

I play by the rules and if I get into trouble with the mods, I know that I am wrong and I will stop. Not to be disrespectful to the mods, it seems that this section is getting off pretty lightly in terms of handing out suspensions.
