After reading Casey’s review of Say Anything I am absolutely thrilled to bits and so happy to hear they’ve done a top notch job on the video and audio transfer, both of which are important to this film (Mother Love Bone y’all), but a nice pack of supplements as well.

This is one of my favourite movies of all time, if not #1. It’s great to see a flick that wasn’t a big budget extravaganza get such a nice Blu-ray treatment…I was a little worried about this one.

Thanks for the great review Casey and thanks Fox for the awesome treatment you’ve given this amazing movie.

I am so excited to hear the good news and see the great review. This is also one of my favorite films, and one that I have identified with ever since seeing it in the theater, incidentally, the same year I graduated high school. I can't wait to upgrade my DVD.

A little off-topic.... but I saw on Fox-News a "gathering" of people in trench-coats holding up boom-boxes for Halloween/20 year commemoration.....

thought it was funny, and it made me want to dust off my DVD and give it another play!

Great news. This is IMO Cameron Crowe's best movie by far. It has a sincerity and humility missing in all movies that follow. Now that I think of it, Cusack's performance in Say Anything... has a sincerity and humilty missing in many of his later roles. Although I loved many of the John Hughes teen movies, I felt a personal connection to this movie. (And no, I'm not a kickboxer.)

Yes, even better than Almost Famous. Although it had some cute parts, I thought Almost Famous was a little too self-conscious and "wink-wink" about the 70s. Even Zooey Deschanel's presence can't compensate for that awful "Tiny Dancer" sing-along. Say Anything... came out before Crowe got slick, cute and sentimental. Fugit and Hudson turned in fine performances though.

Agreed, it simply does everything right and everyone in it is perfect.

I wonder if we'll ever see Better Off Dead on Blu-ray.

They played that on cable a lot back in the day.

I pulled the trigger on Say Anything... since Amazon had it at 50% off. That still makes it around $18, but it has a high list price.
