Seriously though I would just put it to rest. Not impossible but I think it would be very unlikely that anyone could top the second film.

Here's hoping Cameron bites. I doubt he's interested, but it would be nice. Personally, I enjoyed T3 and Salvation, but I'd still love to see the series returned to its originator.

I doubt Cameron would be interested. He was offered the chance to do Terminator 3 and had no desire, so why would he want to make a new Terminator now? I would guess Warner or another studio will purchase this.
