Next Tuesday - April 9 - there's a new release coming from Magnet called The Sorceror and The White Snake starring Jet Li.

I saw the trailer and it looks very exciting. Has anyone actually seen this movie? If so, can you tell me if it's worth a blind buy?

I do not mind if the movie is in Chinese language as long as it has subtitles. I am a huge fan of Jet Li so I am hoping his upcoming White Snake release is hardcore martial arts action.

This film has been out in the UK for a year now and it's called Emperor & The White snake. I would only recommend a rent on this one

I tried to DVR this when it aired on HDNet Movies. About 20 minutes in, my DVR decided it had enough and I couldn't watch the rest. I don't know who was in charge of the subtitles, but the first scene takes place in the middle of a very snowy area and has white subtitles. Yeah, those were easy to read.

I haven't seen it but I'm looking forward to this. I really dig these Chinese folk-lore fantasy movies. It doesn't hurt to have Jet Li and also the beautiful Eva Huang

It is a Wu Xia movie.. if you are familiar with Ching Siu-Tung's previous films in this genre you know what to expect. It is not heavy on Martial arts at all. It is a chinese romance fantasy similar to Tsui Hark's Green Snake

Can someone confirm that there is a blu-ray edition of Sorcerer and the White Snake that includes a VUDU code? I know most BDs include an iTunes digital copy.

I keep hoping to find the VUDU code on the digitial copy forum. Several Vudu codes for this film has been posted there (but I missed out every time).

I want to buy the Vudu code for $5 instead of getting the blu-ray for $20 or whatever it's going for.

But if I have to get the BD, I'd like to find out which retailer / etailer is selling it with the Vudu code.

Any info is much appreciated.

The Walmart version comes with a Vudu copy. Strangely though, the copies I saw at Sam's came with the iTunes digital copy.

I hit THREE different Walmarts in my area. None of them had the BD edition of Sorcerer and the White Snake - just the oldray DVD.

I was so hoping to find the Vudu code on a blu-ray edition but I had no luck.

All I wanted to do was get this movie in my Vudu collection. I am a huge fan of Jet Li. I know if I buy the DVD the VUDU code will redeem in SD. I was hoping to have it in HDX.

I guess I just have to wait until VUDU sells this movie. Currently it is only available as a rental for $4.99.

Heck, I would pay $7 just for the VUDU code from a blu-ray edition.

I am so disappointed.
