Default 1st Apartment Setup

So after living in a garage for the last 5 years, My girlfriend and I have gotten our first place in the town where we are going to College. I love it here and equipment is setup decent right now, except I have no way of hiding the speaker wire for the surrounds.

You can look in my gallery and see the old setup and the new one, the living room is very open so it's hard to hide anything. I have already went from a 7.1 Setup to 5.1 and right this moment it's 3.1 and I'm not wanting to leave it at that.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know, I don't want wires showing everywhere.

Like you I have hardwood floors, but I have a large area rug between my seating area and my HT stand. I run flatwire (Audioquest) cable underneath the carpet without issue.

Maybe that is a possibility?

We have an area rug, unfortunatley it's not large enough to hide all the wire. There isn't really any way to run the wire along the wall either because it still has to go across the floor somewhere

Ok so I added a few more pics 2day, they are about the same as the others but all 5 speakers are hooked up and you can barely see any wires...I'm pretty happy with it and the girlfriend is to.

Please rate and if you have any suggestions plz let me know...

Thanks

Any suggestions guys? Anything you would change about the layout or location of speakers? Ignore the dog beds and pink blanket please, afterall I'm living with my girlfriend

Also for the surrounds, is there any specific way they should be pointing? Like toe them in towards the center of the room, or point them directly at your ears from the listening position?

The location looks good.... I'd still use the area rug to prevent echo if nothing else..... You could use wire-molds that run along the white molding on the floor... just use 3M adhesive and remove them when it's time to collect the deposit on the apartment....

One major DOWNGRADE from your Garage setup though...... Where's the Putter???? Your short-game is going to go into the toilet

(and where's the Maker's Mark...... it's been a long day hasn't it )

HA, the golf game has improved greatly this year, now shooting mid 80's every round. Also the Makers is gone for right now, but in it's place is a nice 12 year old bottle of Chivas Regal and I'm going out right now for some beer and wings at Buffalo Wild Wings...life is good at the moment.

Uploaded some different pictures in my gallery tonight and deleted some older ones. The Polk Monitor 60's and CS2 center will be setup Sunday afternoon, so hopefully new pics to follow Sunday night.

Also just for Beta Man, the glass you see in my gallery is Maker's...you can see it hiding in the background of this pic

Thanks, I really appreciate it. It's taken a couple years to acquire everything I currently own, but it was all well worth it.

There is 1 new picture up right now in my gallery of the new Polks, I actually got them to the apartment Friday instead of Sunday so I got them set up. The old Sony towers are now the surrounds but I didn't upload any pics of them yet because I'm not sure they are staying where they are.

That must be amazing, the 12 year is great for the cash. Being in College most people can't believe I drink Scotch, but being in Ky bourbon really started it all for me.

I hope to get a good bottle of Scotch for Christmas
