Hello everyone, just picked this up today at Wally World, I have a question. This is going in the bedroom with my Sony LCD. Is there an advantage to having the player output in 1080i and then having the TV convert to 720p? Or should I just output in 720p - my tv will accept up to 1080i, but displays in 720p. Thanks!

I have a 32 inch Toshiba TV that supports 720p or 1080i. I am unable to see a difference between 720p and 1080i when viewing BD discs. Under typical viewing conditions, the differences between 1080 and 720p are slight unless you sit very close to the screen or have a very large set (~50 inch or larger).
My BD player is currently set for 1080i. Try viewing the same BD disc at both resolutions and see what looks better. Last edited by jeffb66; 11-07-2009 at 03:25 PM. |
