Jonathan Brandis plays massive tool, Barry, in a Karate Kid ripoff. Man crushing on Chuck Norris in his daydreams, and crushing on Danica "Winnie Cooper" McKellar in his real world, see the wimp transform into the man! Ridiculous, politically incorrect, hilarious, and even marketed as a family film...all of this is precisely what makes it so enjoyable. In the US, it only came out in full frame VHS. The only European DVDs that I can find (and that are still in print) are also full frame. Somebody needs to put this out in original aspect ratio Blu-ray, pronto.

Yes! Always enjoyed this film. It also taught me the correct way to climb a rope.

Gotta admit, I love the music to this movie. I actually made a remix using clips from the film, as there's really no dialogue or sound effects during a few of the training montages. Wait, not 1, not 2, but several training montages? No wonder I loved this movie as a kid. Huge Brandis fan growing up and was heartbroken when I heard he killed himself. Piscopo steals the show every scene he's in (dare I say better than John Kreese?). Weird that this was one of Norris' last features before downgrading to TV (though the show lasted like 8 seasons, so maybe not exactly 'downgrading').

That moment when you see a thread bump and expect to see a release date/announcement but it's just a long time fan of the movie posting......

Someone out there has to give this a shot on Blu Ray.

I seen this in theater way back to 1992 and so I would like to see this release on Blu-ray in the future.

They have it on DVD was a Canada release super expensive if you do find one. I bought one though. Not sure if it will ever see the light on blu ray sadly.
