Question Speaker Wire Questions

I will try to clarify the question again because when I read it again I think i didn't explain it very well.

I want to use this product from Mono Price for the surround speakers. These wires have to go in the

wall and ceiling so I plan to use the following -

http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

My question is do I need to use this same wire for the front and center speakers which do not need

to have the wire put in the wall or can I use a non insulated regular 12 gauge speaker wire?

Thanks In Advance For Your Replys

I've mixed brands before(Monoprice & Monster, no problem), but not gauges.

I would say to keep the same gauge and brand for the front three and keeping it close for surrounds is best practice.

Brands don't matter (some only cost more). Keep the fronts the same gauge and you will fine. Use 12-16 gauge for short runs and 12 gauge for long runs (100' or more).

No problem mixing the different wires. The only difference is the extra jacket need to get the inwall rating.
