Question What should I uprgrade or buy next?

My home theater consists of these things:

50" Panasonic Viera TH-50PZ700U
Pioneer Elite VSX-003TXH
Definitive Technology ProCinema 600 System
Definitive Technology Mythos One Speakers
Oppo BDP-83
Harmony One Advanced Universal Remote

I was wondering what everyone thought should be my next investment. Either upgrading a speaker or something new alltogether. (I just upgraded my blu-ray player, and man is that Oppo BDP-83 amazing!)

So tell me what you think! Thanks!

Hmm.. You could always upgrade some speakers but I dont know if its very necessary with your awesome setup.

If you do decide to upgrade something I could easily find a spot for anything you decide to get ride of

Post some gallery pictures I am interested in seeing your setup.

Thanks for the compliment on my setup. I've worked hard to afford it all. I was maybe thinking about upgrading my definitive 600 set to the 800 and if you still wanted speakers lol id let you know

As for what I was thinking about upgrading was my center speaker because the two mythos speaker I have over power it. I've made the right adjustments but it still seems like I need something more. Maybe a more pwerful one or just spilt two.

As for gallery pictures, I am very eger to put them up. I just redid my basement and painted it all. I just need to buy a couple more posters, make dvd/blu-ray shelving, and then I'm all set. Thanks again for your post and if anyone else has any opinions then feel free to post them! Thanks!

A new subwoofer wouldn't hurt, you got a great setup going for yourself by the way.

A sub would be nice...... a front sound-stage upgrade is always nice too, but often a VERY expensive proposition to get into.....

How about a 3 or 5 channel Amp?

ive never listened to deftechs but it seems like your mains far outclass your other speakers. I would go with a Mythos series center and a new sub for your next upgrade if it were me.

I recommend an SVS subwoofer. It will definitely blow you away with how low it can go. I bought my SVS 20-39 PC Plus as a blind buy and I have never looked back.

+1....I don't see a sub at all in your sig, so I think a sub would be more important than an amp.......and I too have an SVS sub, they are amazing!

well to the people saying I should get an amp or sub, I currently have both in one unit. Look up the definitive pro 600 set. The sub has a built in amp. So if I was to get one or the other that you've all recommended, should I split them and go seprate? Thanks for all the input!

Looking at the HTiB, it becomes more obvious to me that you might want to improve upon your front soundstage next. Perhaps starting with 2 front towers and then a center channel. I would try to get out and listen to as many manufacturers as you can to determine what sound you like since different speakers will provide different sounds. But I do change my recommendation to instead improve upon your front soundstage next.

So you think my Mythos One speakers that I have should be upgraded? I agree that my center speaker deffinetly could use an upgrade but may I ask to why you think I should replace the other speakers?

My setup is as this:

7.1 setup

L and R speakers- Mythos One
All the other speakers are part of the definitive pro 600 class, including the sub/amp
Pioneer elite vsx-03 and my oppo blu-ray player don't need any upgrade.

In my opinion I was thinking it was either going to be the center speaker, the amp/sub, or upgrading the rear speakers to match the quality produced from the Mythos One speakers. Thanks again

Personally, I would start with a new center. In a HT environment, the center is probably the most important speaker in the system. IMO, you'll notice the largest difference with that.

You should definitely try to timbre match your speakers if you decide to upgrade by sticking with DF speakers if possible. Just MHO but here's an article which might help! http://homeaudiotechno.com/speakerselections.aspx Love your system btw and am always a fan of others who like DF speakers!

Default Htpc

I vote for a home theater PC. Rip all of your movies and play them with XBMC. You can also access all kinds of internet content like Hulu and Pandora.

+1
If you have the Mythos 1 L and R and a HTIB center channel...that is definitely mismatched. I would say upgrade your center to this:

http://www.definitivetech.com/Produc...Mythos%20Eight

And after that...this new sub:

Simply to timbre-match, that's all. If you get a new center, you will need to get front speakers that will timbre-match the center. This is the only reason I would suggest changing up your fronts.

Fors, the center would make the most sense actually here is what he has for fronts, and here is is Center channel and the rest of the speakers.

The center channel he needs is this one.

It would be like you using the RM6750 center channel with your T90s. I could work, but how well?

After that I agree that a new sub would be appropriate.

I have always been torn on the debate of whether to get fronts first or a new center. I realize that a majority of the track will come from the center channel, but I think if you actually do listen to some 2.1 music, you may want to do your fronts first to get more bang for your buck right away.
