The more of these threads that pop up, the more I almost wish that Star Wars will never come out on blu...... I'm kidding, but seriously, there are already a dozen+ of these threads, did we really need another? I know there are thousands of fans waiting for this, but try to keep the repetitive threads at a minimum

2012 for the Episode's I, II, and III so Lucas can cash in on the 35th anniversary of the Episode IV then 2013 or 2014 for Episodes IV, V, and VI.

As soon as Hades is ridden with ice like the planet Hoth, and luca's kids have blown through all of their inheritence.

My best guess is NEVER! It seems Lucas and Speilberg have not yet embraced the Blu Ray technology.

Yeah, it's not like both men don't already have movies released on Blu.

I'm optimistic that we'll at least find out the plan in 2010. (how come there's no sticky for this yet there is for Tron, Back to the Future and Jurassic Park?)

True, but releases on Blu by both Spielberg and Lucas is sparse at best. Look how long it took for JURASSIC PARK to be released on VHS. Or for STAR WARS to make it on DVD.
Personally, I don't want a Blu Ray release of STAR WARS because it would give Mr. Lucas a reason to once again alter it to suit his purposes.
Perhaps a Blu Ray release will see Han Solo not shooting Greedo at all but Greedo just shooting himself by accident.
Or maybe when Luke removes Darths mask, we will see Hayden Christenson's face instead of the original actor.

One question has been nagging at me for the longest time:

With all the new CGI technology that Lucas had to play with, Why oh why couldn't he replace the "puppet" Yoda with the CGI Yoda?? This way when Yoda talked, it would look a bit more realistic and not just his mouth opening and closing like an obvious puppet.

They will never replace the ESB or ROTJ Yoda...and why would they?

Frank Oz did a fantastic work into making Yoda into well...Yoda!

There is talk however though they will replace the ugly TPM Yoda...since well it looked awful.

Also they programmed the CGI Yoda in AOTC and ROTS to Yoda movement skills in the OT.

and the Saga set will come out either this fall or next Fall odds are in 2011.

The actor they showed did not play Darth Vadar or the voice. Only his face was shown when the mask was removed and he mumbled a few words.

I don't foresee Star Wars on blu-ray for at least another year or two until GL believes there is enough blu-ray adoption/players out there to justify remastering to capitalize on the demand.

Right now, there just isn't enough blu-ray players out there to yeild a decent ROI after remastering/packaging/release has all been done and paid for.

IIRC, Episode I didn't come on DVD until II came out even though DVD was starting to become mass adopted.

They want to release the Saga set on DVD as well so they said they gotta figure out when to "time" the release since they don't want to wait too long before DVD falls to the way side...granted that might take awhile.

You would think a Star Wars sticky would be a no brainer.
