Default Is V for Vendetta coming to BD?

WB announced an Aug 1st release date for V for Vendetta for both DVD and HD-DVD. Does anyone know if that will be the date the BR version comes out?

I know people probably wan't it sooner than this but it would be sweet if it came out on the 5th of November. Speaking of WB has anyone heard news on Batman Begins on Blu Ray.

Man....

I don't think I've ever posted anything negative on this site, but I can't resist. That was probably the worst movie I've ever seen. Sorry dude I'm not trying to bash your topic, but that's one Blu can do without So to make this relevant to the topic, I would say it's last on my priority list.

Wow. You definitely stand in the minority. Maybe give it another viewing . . . it resonates particularly well with the political climate of today's world.

Exactly. I especially thought the gay scenes and subplot was very sad and touching and not that far off from the political viewpoint in the US right now. I think the movie is amazing and would definitely pick it up on blu-ray.

I liked it a lot my first time watching it. Upon more viewings, i realized how crappy it is and how it is probably one of the worst movies ive seen. Good to watch once and then slowly forget tho.

Cool I think I've watched this film 40 times now

I bought it on DVD because I couldn't wait for Blu. I'll buy it again on Blu when it comes out. One of the best movies of the last 15 years. This movie is a look into the future that could/might be, plus, it's just a damn good yarn. It really chaps me that HD DVD gets it and we don't.

I never got around to watching it. Maybe one day when it goes to HBO, Starz or showtime.

It's on HBO now, I've seen it on there a few times. I would tell you to buy it on DVD if it weren't for the fact that it will be released on BD some time.

Because Alan Moore is a genius. If you like his work, there is a "Watchman" movie in the works.

RIYL - Neil Gaiman, who wrote the "Sandman" graphic novels, has a movie coming out called "Stardust", with Claire Danes. Looks promising--the book is phenomenal.

Also, rumors keep persisting that Warren Ellis, an equally-talented contemporary of both Gaiman and Moore, is attempting to have his graphic novel "Global Frequency" made into a movie. There was a pilot for a TV series that never gained momentum, unfortunately. It was brilliant. With the success of shows like "Heroes", it might make a resurgence.

Is there a release date for this and Batman Begins? I would hope so considering Troy is coming to BD soon.

Yup! It wouldn't be right if I didn't speak up on this thread. There isn't a movie I'd like to see on BD more than this one. In their Top 100 issue recently relased, Home Theatre Mag (love it or hate it -- I think it's great) just ranked V for Vendetta among the top (if not the top??) HD DVD to own. Apparently gives the AV equipment quite the workout, which of course wouldn't suprise me because the sound is very respectable on DVD, but I'm salivating over the prospect of V for Vendetta on a BD release.

I look everywhere online but never see any mention of a release date. Again, given the recent recognition this movie recieved from Home Theatre Mag, here's hoping Warner elects to cash in on a BD release ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!
