netflix with ps3 problems - Blu-ray Forum

i inserted the disk from netflix that allows for instant streaming. it gives me a password to use to activiate the account. my ps3 and computer cant be connected to the internet at the same time so i have to disconnect the ps3 to input the pw on the computer. when i then return to netflix on ps3 it gives me a different pw so the cycle starts all over. anyone else have this problem? do i have to input the pw on the computer while the ps3 is running netlix?

Yes unfortunately. I sorta had that problem too, until I tried entering the code with it still displayed on the tv, it worked then. Although for some reason I had to go through that twice for it to finally stick.

Can you get to the PS3 Internet browser through the XMB while the Netflix disk is up? I didn't try since I have a router, but maybe that'd be a viable solution.

you can use an iphone to input the code. or any phone with a internet browser

tried using my phones internet browser but the "activate" button on the netflix site would not work, also tried the browser on PS3 but that did not work either. spoke to a friend and he told me netflix had to be running on ps3 while you input the code on the computer. im going to try again tonight with a friends laptop.

Have you considered getting an ethernet splitter? Not just for verifying Netflix, but also so you wouldn't have to constantly switch the ethernet cable back and forth between the computer and the PS3 in general.

That would drive me crazy after a while.

I bought a 5 port switch awhile back not knowing it wouldnt work with the
ps3. im not a hardcore gamer so i dont use the ps3 online much.
