Default Lg bd270

Ok, so here in New England we have these electronic stores called Bernie's.

This Sunday they had a friends and family sale (you needed a coupon to attend) and had the LG BD270 for sale for 99 bucks. I currently have the old Sony BDP-S300 I bought when they first came out a couple years ago.

Well this player is for the bedroom, and while at Bernies I also bought a 32" LG 1080p tv for $379. to replace my 15 year old tv.

So here is what I think of the BD player. Compared to the S300, it is lightening quick loading and playing. (But what isn't) I mean really, I put a disc in that would take a couple minutes on the old player and on the new one it loaded in seconds. This player is small and light. It has Bonus view but not BD live (which I wouldn't use any way) A USB media port, the upscaling worked real well and played my burned dvds very well. It does all the Audio outputs that you would imagine it could (TrueHD, DTS-HD MasterAudio).

For 99 bucks this player is a great 1st or 2nd player for those not concerned about BDlive.

It does lack some of the features a higher end unit would have, but if your just into watching movies this baby rocks.

The one thing that I think could be better quality wise is the disc tray. It does seem very cheap and looks like it could easily break will a little pressure put on it. The same thing could be said about my Go-video DVd player that has lasted at least 5 years though.

The only other thing that I thought was odd was that you can't scan back while in pause, it has to be playing.

I haven't had to upgrade firmware yet, but have heard it's easy with the USB port, or you can burn a CD or DVD.
