Default Amazon long shipping times now

This is the second movie (Star Trek) I have bought from Amazon using standard shipping, and they are giving it 7 days from the date they shipped it out on. The last time they used some slow fedex movement where they send it to your local post office and and the postman delivers it the rest of the way. I can understand if I had used a super saver shipping. Anyone else have this problem?

I love prime but it doesn't make sense sometimes. I live in between Vegas and Phoenix, and sometimes my package will ship from Phoenix, then go to Vegas, then go to my town for delivery. And vice versa, it ships from Reno, goes to Phoenix, then comes back to Vegas....

It's all in 2-days but it's just odd. Not Amazon's fault, just odd.

Just use the free shipping. It's the same or better than standard. My free shipments usually arrive in about 4-5 days. They ship on Tuesday and I get them on Friday or Saturday of the same week.

I preordered UP and also a few other Blus and a baby monitor. My couple of blus and monitor can in two days on free super saver shipping, and UP made it in 3 with Veterans Day causing the extra day delay on free super saver. I guess it helps that they were shipped from Lexington KY and I live only 5 hours from there.

Before I signed up for Prime I notices something weird, whenever they would ship something USPS, I would get a tracking number but I wouldn't be able to track it at all until the day it was delivered. Before then it would always say it's an invalid number. But on Amazon's site they would show updates.

Does Amazon have their own internal network to move items?

I placed an order for 5 movies on Sunday night at about 10pm Eastern (Star Trek, Fight Club, The Professional, Oldboy and T2). ST, FC, Pro and T2 all showed up at 10AM Tuesday morning and Oldboy showed up at 10AM today, even though it had a tracking number on Monday just like the other 4. I just selected what ever the default shipping was.

So far I have been happy about the shipping times

Bill

And...?

Most orders are likely to be $25 or more. Just add a few titles together on pre-orders. They'll ship when they're released.

Their shipping has been faster for me lately, even with Free Super Saver shipping. The last 2 orders they've used Ontrac for delivery and they are getting it to us the next day. I ordered something yesterday, it shipped today, and is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. Not bad with FSS.
