IS TOP GUN A GUY MOVIE OR A CHICK FLICK? POST REPLIES BELOW

i only ask because it will settle a bet at work. guys half naked in a locker room, oiled up. guys half naked on the beach oiled up. guy chasing after a chick giving up (possibly) their careers for love. and finally all the chick songs that can now be heard at any girls ballet recital across america (and i'm not talking about DANGERZONE)

It's got Tom Cruise in it, which automatically makes it a chick flick.

Edit: Wait, gotta include the soundtrack, after "Dangerzone" it's pretty much what Richw said.

Its a guy flick, it starts and ends with jets. In between jet scenes they provide things for women to look at.

Heck, I would think it's both. There's something for everybody, it would be something the whole family could enjoy. Maverick reminds me of Kirk from Star Trek (2009). That's why I like it.

I'm not sure what it is,I liked it as a kid and bought it years later on DVD and brought it straight back to the shop.
It's really camp and I hated it when I got older.

Only reason I like it is for the F14 flight scenes.

BTW, those flight scenes were all filmed in real time. No CGI at all.

When I voted, I wasn't expecting anyone to have voted Chick Flick. Most women I know have no interest in this movie and the guys always do.
