Best thing you can do is go listen to different Brands of speakers to see what you Like . when you audition the speakers it would be A good thing to have them running off A pioneer receiver as well .

Speakers & Receivers will all sound different , That is why you should go listen to them first !

BTW ~ Welcome to the forum !!!

Very Nice Receiver you have with the Pioneer Elite .
It can handle many different Speaker Types,so that wont be a drawback.

Do you have an Audio Store anywhere close to your home or your work? And I dont really mean Best Buy,unless its the Best Buy that Has A Magnolia Room.Where you can go in and listen to the speakers without all the store noise.

But if you have an audio dealer close to you I would make one Big Suggestion.Go there and audition as many different Speaker Types that they Carry, that are within your price range.

Its hard to say you should get these speakers or those speakers.Because everyone hears things slightly different. What one person may like you may think it sounds terrible.

And since you have a sizeable amount to put into your Speakers you would seriously be doing yourself an injustice in not listening to the different brands before you buy.

So if you are willing to spend that much money at one time,it would be worth a drive that was an hour long each way to get to actually hear different speakers and judge them for yourself.

If not,you will Never Know if you got the Best Speakers for the Money you Spent.Because you may have not heard a specific brand that was just the absolute Perfect Match to what you were searching for.

And most places now a days has an Audio Delaer within a manageable distance from their home or work.

Sorry I couldn't just say,Yes,you need to buy these and these.I want you to be the judge for that.

So let us know if you do have a dealer near by.And if you cant find one let us know your city, state, and zip and we can search to see if there may be something that was overlooked,or listed in a different way.

I Wish You Great Success in your Search.

Bring your favorite CDs and Blu-rays with you. You have heard and seen them many times and will now what they should be like, and you'll hear the improvements and be blown away more than a demo disc the store has. The demo discs and TAS discs the store use are great I have a few, but not what I'd use to demo a speaker. However brass seems to bring out the worst in some speakers, which is usually included on those reference CDs. Listen to a lot.

Have a Best Buy with a Magnolia room near me also have Abt which is like 5 miles away. I know sound quality is a matter of one's taste. But I'M looking to narrow the field as far as to which speakers I should invest my time in listening to.

New PSB Image T5/C5 combo with B15 surrounds and Acoustic audio HD SUB-10.

http://news.ecoustics.com/bbs/messag...81/580721.html

http://www.soundstage2.com/avtour2009/ced_ss01.html

Try to price out DMC electronics and saturday audio or a local dealer.

Front three should come close to this:
899 +375= 1274
20% off 1274= $1019

1019(fronts) + 170 (sub) + 279(surrounds) = $1468

Energy C Series, CF series,
Kef iQ5s & iQ50s or iQ7s
PSB Image series (as pointed out above)
Polk TSi, or possibly RTis
Monitor Audio Bronze series
Def Tech BP6B Towers

Those would be good speakers to begin listening to. From there I would nail it down

Woot Def Techs! I have the same center and love it, and my surrounds are the BP2x, which is just a bit larger. You'll love those for sure, and I'm sure you'll like those 350's. I'm jealous of your sub- it's a beast!

Got everything Tuesday morning was happier than a kid on Christmas morning. The first box i opened was the sub HOLY $@#% this thing is a monster, now I've spent 2 days of my sick days setting everything up just to make sure everything was set right (at least I thought). Here's the kicker the sub is flawless but the rest don't seem to sound right, not like when I went to listen to them at ABT. I have ran MCACC at least 5 times checked to see if it set everything right, for most part it did just had to set the fronts and the center to small and set crossover at 80Hz,but still it doesn't sound right. If I can't get the Def Techs to sound right I might have to return them. But as for the sub it stays. So guys if there is any advice on this matter you could offer it would be much appreciated. P.S. This sub should come with a warning label stating *THE PC13 MAY SCARE SMALL CHILDREN,ANIMALS,AND THE ELDERLY*
