The Arse of the World's Mind
United Kingdom Video Nasties

I don't think there's a thread on this.

Here are all 72 video Nasties with BD info below ones that have been released on BD.

Section 2 Prosecuted films [39]

Absurd (Joe D'Amato, 1981)

1. 88 Films [Region?]

Anthropophagous: The Beast (Joe D'Amato, 1980)

1. 88 Films [Region B]

Axe (Frederick R. Friedel, 1974)

1. Severin [Region Free]

A Bay of Blood (Mario Bava, 1971)

1. Arrow Video - has both versions [Region B]

2. Kino - ONLY has 1 version [Region A]

The Beast in Heat (Luigi Batzella, 1977)

Blood Feast (Herschell Gordon Lewis, 1963)

1. Arrow Video [Region A & B]

2. Something Weird Video [Region Free despite disc claiming to be Region A. When region locked message appears onscreen press 'top menu' button on remote & you'll be taked to main menu & disc will play as normal]

Blood Rites [aka The Ghastly Ones] (Andy Milligan, 1968)

Bloody Moon (Jess Franco, 1981)

1. Severin [Region Free]

The Burning (Tony Maylam, 1981)

Cannibal Ferox (Umberto Lenzi, 1981)

1. Grindhouse - plays with original cut or with deleted footage inserted [Region A]

Cannibal Holocaust (Ruggero Deodato, 1980)

1. Grindhouse - both original & animal cruelty free version [however missing about 10 secs from " The Last Road to Hell" sequence but available in the extras] [Region Free]
2. Shameless - cut by 15 secs & footage substituted with reaction shots of actors. Has same 10 missing secs as US BD & new reduced animal cruelty version supervised by Deodato [Region Free]
3. Another World Entertainment - original version but has same 10 missing secs as US BD & included as an extra. Surprising really considering their DVD is TOTALLY UNCUT [Region B]
4. XT [Austria] both 3-dic & 4-disc LEs. TOTALLY UNCUT & INCLUDES complete 'Last Road to Hell' sequence IN THE FILM & NOT as an extra [Region B] - Apparently this release also has same 10 missing secs as ALL OTHER BD releases have. Can someone clarify?

Pretty sure Scorpion were going to release this year's ago but were waiting on an interview with Linda Haynes, not sure if their rights have expired or they have shelved it.

This is for anyone who's watched the fist Video Nasties set & want to collect all 72 films. I'll update the list when more of the DVD only titles get upgraded to BD.

I'm going to do another thread for the DPP Section 3 titles when I've found my copy of the 2nd video Nasties set as all DPP Section 3 lists online are missing 2 titles.

Do Blue Underground still have UK rights to Snuff? Blue Underground were the ones who got it passed BBFC UNCUT back in 2003 but since then, NO release has happened.

BU haven't released anything in the UK. What have the BBFC got to do with them?

Unless I've missed something...

I Spit on Your Gave also has a UK release from 101 Films and you are giving too much credit to Vinegar Syndrome as Frozen Scream was a DVD only bonus film on their Blu-ray release of The Executioner, Part II so that needs to be removed from the list and relegated to a DVD only release.

The BBFC definitely passed Snuff uncut back in 2003 for Blue Underground which was never released in the end, perhaps Snuff was going to be their first release in the UK but plans to branch out over here fell though? http://www.bbfc.co.uk/releases/snuff-2003

I've always wanted to see The Werewolf and the Yeti (La Malediction de la Bestia) I've never been able to find it anywhere in any format. Is it actually any good?

Go to each title and copy the BDs ID (it's the numbers add the end of the address), then click the [BD] icon in the reply post box (it's next to the Spoiler tab).

For example Anthropophagus is 126948 just add [BD] [ /BD] tabs around it (with no space between the / and B).

Just copy the text from my post and add it to yours for the ones I've done already (quote my post like you did, then copy the text and numbers, then Edit your original post).

I've got a DVD-R of the Spanish (clothed) version [Spanish with subs] which I got at Westminster film fair last year. It's good quality print.

Someone told me that the English language (unclothed) version DVD-R they have is terrible print wise but as a collector it's good to have both versions.

Overall it's a really good paul Naschy Waldermar Daninsky film.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't seen any of his other films so have no idea on quality or content. Still intrigued. I've been going through the video nasty list as best I can for about 15 years now. This is a really great thread!

Anyone got any pics of both LE Austrian BDs of Cannibal Holocaust? The differece between both the 3 & 4 disc LEs is the inclusion of the soundtrack in 4 disc release.
