Default Toshiba 40' 40RV525R A Good TV??

I will be getting a giftcard through my warrenty. I have my eye a Toshiba 40" as it's The best tv Zellers sells, and you have to use the card there. There is a 40" Sony there as well but I have to get the specs on it next time I go there.

anyways I want to know what your thoughts are on this tv. I hope this is a good tv, I had a bad experance with the VisionQuest.

I'm not saying anything is wrong with this TV, but find out the other model number so we can compare with you.

I gave zellers a call and they have 2 other tv's there are an RCA 40" and a Sony 40" 'KDL40SL150' I did not get a model number for the RCA. I typed down the number as "KLD40SL150" I must have typed it wrong though as there is no tv under that number. This is the tv in question

session_id=79a1b5634bea77981a81ef55567aa535

So out of these 2 tv's what one is better

I have bee reading up on that Sony and I think it may have better features. It has a much better dynamic contrast ratio. 30,000:1 the Toshiba is 15,000:1 I know you guys have said don't worry about contrast ratio. But the better the contrast ration better the clours and black rights. The Sony also 24p movie mode, is that a giood thing? Or just more marketing hype?

Should I get the Toshiba or Sony?. I am leaning towards the "Sony" Is this the right choice/better tv.?

Please let me know what tv is better

thanks

I agree with with this as a general guide. However Toshiba is MUCH closer to Sony than RCA is to either brand.

Also when comparing Toshiba to Sony, I would compare specific models to specific models. Some toshiba tv's are actually not bad for the money.

There is often a huge difference between specs and actual contrast ratios.

My opinion is that if you're going to go with a high end LCD, Sony is a brand to look at along with Samsung. But for the cheaper tv's Toshiba is very competative with tv's in that lower price range.

The Sony and Toshiba ones i am looking at are in the same price range. I think the sony maybe $100 but that is not a big deal.
