Default Panasonic BD55 Has 2.0 But will not play newer Movies

I have a BD55 with firmware update 2.0 installed. It is hit and miss to get it to play Blue ray disc's IT will play standard DVD's fine then when you put a Blue ray disc in it says it can't read it.. Am I the only one and how can I remedy this?
I am hooked to a JVC 61 Full1080P through a Denon 2808 using HDMI Cables. IT plays some (Star Trek Blue Ray "Voyage Home" ) But it will not play "God's & Generals" Blue Ray.. Anyone help on this?
Thanks Harleymon

Question Odd

Well I tried to play God's & Generals's again today and it worked! I a wondering if there is on board memory on the player and shutting it down for a while clears the memory so when turned on again it recognizes the Blue Ray DVD?
I will keep posting if I find anything else..

Well the Panasonic Lovers don't like me to Post bad things about their Blu-ray Players, but I feel they all have problems. It is a combination problem of the Blu-ray Manufacturers and the Blu-ray Motion Picture Association. I have a BD35 and I'd say it plays about 50% of the Blu-ray Movies. Very poor statistics.

I've had a BD55 since last fall and it's never failed to play a disc. Original firmware, too. From the posts here and at sites like AVS, the BD35/55 models seem to be better than most when it comes to playability.

My BD35 has played every movie that I've ever put in it. Crank 2 was one of the big ones that everyone was having trouble with and I didn't have a problem.

My BD55 has started to freeze up now every time I play a BD. I hit eject, go to the chapter list, hit play and it works fine. Anybody else?

Firmware version 2.0 downloaded from Panasonic.com burned to a CD-R and fed to my DMP-BD55. Everything seems to be working fine.

Ooops, it's been awhile. My HDMI cables are from Monoprice. turns out the problem was a bad RAM drive. Parts and labor were covered under warranty, I only had to pay shipping one way. I've had it back about a month now, plays everything I throw at it.
