Wow, funny story. This guy got all cut up and trashed himself on barb wire trying to climb a fence to get back in to prison. That is certainly a new one!

It would be similar to a Shawshank reaction, one day the guards will do a cell check and someone simply wouldn't be there but the escapee would probably be caught.

Yeah, except he was not trying to break OUT of jail, he was trying to break INTO jail, lol.

Macruz knows my harp on the US jails... but really... there is something wrong when people prefer to be in the jail than outside and taking their chances... PLUS if this guy killed someone, he should be brave enough to face the family.
I won't even get on my hobby horse about what is wrong with the system.

lol, exactly.

Except instead of tunneling, etc, he just tried to climb the barb wire entangled outer fence of the jail to try to get back in, and got all torn up.

I certainly agree that the system is fairly messed up (some states more than others), but the only reason the guy wanted to be back in jail is because he is a coward, not really because the system is messed up or that he is so well adjusted to prison life that he cant live on the outside, or anything like that. He is just afraid of vengeance, that has nothing to do with the system.

EDIT: Upon re-reading the article though, I see your point. The system is messed up in that they sentenced him to an additional 15 years, that now tax payers will be paying for, all because he is a coward. That is messed. They should have forced him to NOT go back to prison and force him to face what he (arguably) deserves, and the system wouldn't allow for such a parole violation to go unpunished.

Nice.

Wasn't there a guy that tried to break out of prison by hiding in a laundry cart being loaded on a truck? When he felt the truck stop and engine cut off he waited a few minutes and jumped out of the basket. Right into the laundry room of another prison. I remember it on an episode of Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction. I think it was a "fact".

Last winter I witnessed a nude homeless running in the streets of richmond. Later in the news I found out that he did that because he wanted to go to jail. For a homeless I guess its better to be in Jail where food and warmth is provided. But for this guy I just continue on laughing.

Yeah some bums break the law on purpose so they can get food and shelter but the guy who tried to climb a barbed wire fence is just silly.
