i have the magnavox nb530mgxa player and want to update firmware for it because it wont play copied blue ray disks..funai is the maker of this player and has firmware update for it..when i download it and extract to a disk and put it in the player it asks, do i want to update firmware...i say yes then min later it says data is corrupt..i used all kind of disks and computers to copy the bin file to disk still says corrupt data ..anyone know how i can update this firmware? players says the firmware i have now is (e5m20ud) ver.2.008 region a-1

That model code (E5M20UD) is not listed on the Funai site; where did you get it? I remember seeing another user post somewhere that he had version 2.00x on his machine right out of the box, but the Funai site only lists 1.010 versions.

Assuming it is a legitimate firmware file, I would download it again (don't use the same one you have already tried) and burn it to a CD-R.

How did you find out the firmware version of your NB530MGXA? I have one and it is not listed in the setup and doing the 1,2,3,4 thingy does nothing on my machine. I can't figure out what my version is?
