2012 is too long, this isn't the 80s VHS days. If it takes that long it'll just be annoying when it finally comes out and everyone is supposed to be grateful or something for the privilege of buying the same movies again.

I think 2012 as well.
DVD was released in 1997, and Star Wars came to DVD 7 years later, in 2004.
Blu-ray came in 2006, so I expect Star Wars to come 7 years later, in 2012.

Once market saturation is more thorough,
once the 3-D conversion and possible theatrical 3-D
35th anniversary of a New Hope re-release have taken place.
I'm excited to see it happen.

I'm still not expecting a major box set special edition though.
I think we'll just see the films come to
Blu-ray with little to no bonus features.
Then once Lucas is dead, a special edition
box set will finally be released.
They can pry it from his cold dead fingers.

Just my theory though.

I think if we see the India Jones films (lost ark,Temple,Last Crusade) hit BD then SW should be not too far IMO.

I'm pretty sure we will see Star Wars: Episode I, II, and III on iTunes, Zune Marketplace, and PSN Network first within the next two years in 480p SD first.

Then after that, they will be available on Blu-ray Disc and 1080p/720p HD for the digital download sevices.

Following those films will be Episodes IV, V, and VI on digital download 480p SD to start. Months later will come the Blu-ray Discs and 1080p/720p HD digital downloads.

The BDs will have DTS-HD Master Audio despite what the "internet" believes. The Digital Downloads will offer DD 5.1 audio.

BDs will also have some new content along with special iTunes Extras releases.

If the 3d theatrical version is any good, he'll release a flat version, then a 3d version 2 years later.

I predict that Spielburg will put all his films on BD first, and then somehow urge his buddy George to do the same.
