If it's the same transfer that's already out in the UK, then it's got a lot of digital fiddling going on.

I like both versions. Cape Fear 1963 works as one of those films of the era that were inspired by Hitchcock but weren't directed by him (Charade being another) that actually work, and Cape Fear 1991 brings the usual Scorsese pathos to add a little depth to the proceedings and makes it a remake that actual brings something exciting to the table. The only real negative I have about the '91 version is one that many critics had at the time, Caddy is a little too Terminator/Freddy Kruegur-ish in that he seems almost invincible.

I had the UK version. Not a good transfer, there will be many complaints.

I have the UK disc. I thought the transfer held up very well projected. It's still a Universal release, but FAR from their worst IMHO. Easily trumps the DVD.

Usually I do not care about the DNR but I thought this title went to the extreme. I fiound it very distracting and not natural.
