Default HD sound vs. Regular sound

I just got a new system that does DTS-HD & True HD. I wanted to know what BDs out there have a good showcase for HD sound vs regular sound. I have alot of movies so Im sure I have some good ones. Take a look at my collection and let me know thanks.

All of them. Whats cool to show your friends is blackhawk down, have it on dolby digital and in the middle of a fight scene switch to pcm. You will get some Holy Sh!ts

Well, Quantum of Solace, Casino Royale, Live Free or Die Hard, Ratatouille (Shotgun grandma at beginning), Kung Fu Panda (Skadoosh), Star Trek to just mention a few!

One you either need to get or rent is Master and Commander!

Enjoy audio bliss, those movies are awesome!

Concert videos are a good way to demo your sound system; one of the best recordings on BD is David Gilmour "Remember that Night" . I also recently picked up Tom Petty Soundstage BD for $10 on clearance at Sears (!), which is also recorded well.

Also get Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds: Live at Radio City. It's just two guys playing acoustical guitars and singing so there's not much bass but the AQ is truly amazing.

i think the title is alittle misleading - lossless audio (TrueHD/Master Audio) sounds better simply becuz of the non-compressed format. I think what you are asking is what BD have great surround sound effects/sound editing/and great presentation on a sound field/stage.
With that said, a great scene like the opening battle of Master & Commander can sound like sh!t if your soundstage doesn't do it justice. Just my two cents.

My recommendations for what sounds great are: Master and Commander, Pan's Labryinth (7.1 DTS MA), Dark Knight, Hot Fuzz, King Kong, NIN: Beside you in time....you know, the usual suspects.

Get the free Dolby True HD showcase Blu-Ray. I got one from Dolby and its got Dolby True HD and Dolby Digital Plus. You can definitely show off your system and you can really show the difference between the 2 sound formats. Dolby trueHD is just an amazing step forward. JC

For DTS-MA try these 2 movies!! FIGHT CLUB and FORREST GUMP!!!During the plane crash scene in Fight Club, I thought the neighbors were going to call the cops!!! Even the war scene in Forrest Gump!!! Both this scences are impressive because they are unexpected!!!

For Dolby TrueHD try THE DARK KNIGHT and CASINO ROYALE, I enjoyed the hospital explosion scene in The Dark Knight!! And Casino Royale, during the free running scene!!!!

For PCM try 300 ( Original Release ) and 3:10 TO YUMA, too many scenes to count in 300 and the opening armored carrier heist in 3:10 To Yuma is amazing!!!!

If you have a good 5.1 or 7.1 set-up try out Master And Commander. Close your eyes and listen to your surrounds creak and groan. You'll get seasick.

I agree with Kakihara, although I would also recommend "The Orphanage" The audio really pulls you into the story.

which brings us back to the usual misconception that "More Bass" = "Better Audio"

There is much more to HD audio than "more bass"
