Default Inglorious Basterds Blind Buy Question

All I hear is good things about IG and I want to blind buy. BUT, that's a big BUT, I don't like Tarantino movies. Should I still blind buy?

If you don't like Tarantino they'd I'd strongly suggest you give it a rental. However, you may be in for a surprise.

I like Tarantino except for Kill Bill movies. So maybe if you dont like those you would like this. Any particular Tarantino film you dont like?

Well it's not actually his movies I don't like it's just that style of movie that he does. If that makes any sense. That's what I don't like.

Didn't really love the kill bill series, but IB was the best movie last year. It was awesome and easily worth a blind buy

Excuding the fact that this is a Tarantino film, what other movie is IB similar to?

What a silly question... I have no idea whether you'll like it, but pure logic dictates you should save your money.

It makes sense and if that's the case rent it first. I think this is his best movie but it's in his style all the way.

Basically without giving anything away, there are two storylines happening in this movie (one of which is the "Basterds" and their need for Nazi scalps). It does bounce back and forth between them. The storylines will meet at the end. It's not hard to follow at all.

Just get it. It's a damn good example of filmmaking at its best.

If you aren't a fan of QT's stuff, you may not like this movie.

There are some aggressive and violent scenes, and there is a LOT of dialogue.

That said, it did not have as much ranting as his previous movies (no long-winded quips about various things, current events, quarter pounders, which a lot of people didn't like)

It was a tighter performance but also a bit silly.

I really, really think it would be worth a rent first.

I didn't care for 'Pulp Fiction' at all, but friends of mine who also didn't like PF just LOVED IB and said it wasn't "typical Tarantino". What say you guys?

What a ridiculous thread

NO, you should not blind buy this movie in light of everything you have said. At best, this is a rental for you.

If you don't like Tarantino, then I'd suggest a rental first.
