Default Best deal on an LCD tv....32 inch range.

I was wondering, our family has decided to go in together and get my father an lcd tv for his bedroom for Christmas. We are trying to find the best deal possible in the 32 inch range. Please keep in mind, this doesn't have to be a cutting edge, top of the line model. It just has to be something that looks good and would be reliable.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I would appreciate everyone's input. Thanks!

I have a 32" Samsung LCD nothing fancy, 720p 60hz, does the job fine...Also have a 37" Insignia both are sub $500 i believe now. I run HD signals to both, i don't know how they fare on standard def.

I'd recommend following the sales, you can find some sub $400 deals if you follow them... gl

Order from Wal-Mart online using the 20% Bing Cashback (assume it's still going on, check the Hot Deals thread). I bought the 32" Panasonic Viera the other day for my son, $398 before 20% ($80) cashback cannot be beat for a very good rated LCD. They also have a Vizio 32" for the same price, but the Pany is a better rated set. For a 32" bedroom TV, 720p will be perfectly fine.

I bought a 32" Apex Digital display from Target when they were $299.99, Great Tv, on HD and even Standard Definition. I would recommend this tv to anyone that doesnt need a cutting edge display.

Update: We decided on an RCA L32HD31r model. It looked good in store and the reviews have generally been good. I hope he likes it.

I wanted to get the 32" RCA model for my own bedroom as well, but it was sold out. I settled on a 32" Sanyo for $299. It's working quite well so far. How is the RCA?
