Default Star Wars in 1080p!

So the other day i was out with a friend and tells me

"So i got all six Star Wars movies in 1080p!" and i was like

"mmmmm no you dont." And then he was like.

"No really I have them on my PC i downloaded them.

I was still thinking he was pulling my leg. And told him i didnt believe him because I knew that none of them have been released yet on either Blu-ray or HD DVD.

Making a long story and argument short he looked it up on the interweb and found out that it was aired on a HD TV provider.

http://csel.cs.colorado.edu/~pmjohnso/swhighdef/

Here we found a comparison between DVD and The 1080p Sky feed.

I was wondering since there are already HD copys is there plans on bringing this to Blu-ray soon?

If you click on one of the images, it takes you to full sized version.

I have seen them in HD from HBO at my friends and they looked waaaaay better than the dvd's. I can't wait for a Blu-ray release. I have seen threads before where people recorded the HD versions when they aired and have them in 5.1 as well and burnt them as a blu-ray copy. I have been searching forever for somebody who did this so I could buy a copy.

It's not 1080p, if anything whoever encoded them made them P. No one, ESPECIALLY satellite broadcasts 1080p

To me the shots look a bit washed out, the DVD color is definately richer, and with SW there's never a question of whether it's Lucas approved

I have the Star Wars movies in 1080p...Around 18 GB each. Even though they're 1080p, these will not go on Blu-ray disc. Trust me, George will remaster all these movies when the time comes.

P.S. Even though they're 18 gb, they look sweeeeeeeeeeeet

Confused. Which one is HD? I think the original pics are much better than the mouse over.

And yes, the source should be 1080i IMO.

I highly suggest that no one post a torrent or cite a location for finding it either
