Default Blockbusters/popular movies NOT in your collection

For me, Avatar and the Harry Potter movies. I tried watching a few of the HP movies but just couldn't get into them at all. Same with Avatar. I've watched it 3 times and still find it kind of annoying in so many ways. I know I'm going to be crucified for this but that's okay.

Definitely HP. Read the books (up to 5) and got bored. Emma Watson is hot now though so I do hope we get to see her acting career for a long time.

Anything remade from something else. (e.g. Transformers, G.I. Joe)

OK, here's my list (for now)...

"Harry Potter" franchise (bailed after the 4th one)
The fairly recent "sex comedy" craze (Scary Movie, Date Movie, Epic Movie, etc.)
Constantine
Brendan Fraser "Mummy" sequels
"Die Hard" series

...and that's just what comes to mind at the moment.

Forgot about this series. Probably won't add them either. And another series I forgot that's a definite no-no for my collection, Twilight. They ruin all that's great about vampires!

all harry potters,
all pirates of carribean
all superman movies
all matrix
the ten commandments.

im not saying these movies are bad, i like most of them , but not enough to warrant a bd purchase. its weird, i thougt i was selective when i bought dvds...now that im buying blu's i find myself being more selective.

This site's recommendations for my collection:

Harry Potter movies: subject material does not appeal to me
Ratatouille: the only Pixar movie that I don't enjoy
Fight Club: incredibly overrated
Pirates of the Caribbean: I might pick 'em up when the FULL set comes out
Superbad: seen it too many times on TV and at friend's houses
Unbreakable: the only Shyamalan movie that I liked was Signs
Transformers movies: horrible
Raging Bull: not a movie that I want to see more than once
Children of Men: incredibly overrated
Ben Button and Tropic Thunder: I blind bought both and disliked them. sold them later on.

I could go on and on. I have most of the movies that I want.

I have whittled my collection down to the films I know I'll come back to every once in a while. As for what is not and will never be in my collection

Any of the Movie films (Scary, Date, Epic, Disaster, Dance... and on and on)
Bad Boys 1 & 2 (Way to mean spirited in the second one)
Shallow Hal (All Farrelly Brothers films)
Country Strong (I wanted my money back at the theater, but more my time)
Wall-E (Too pretentious, as Pixar really has gotten to pretentious and preachy lately. Finding Nemo was really their last amazing film. Ratatouille is cool, and Up is decent, but...)
Most Jim Carrey films.
Most Robin Williams films.
Godfather 1-3
Any and all Martin Scorsese films (Tried Aviator twice and sold it off both times. Boring. Don't like mafia and crime movies too much.)
Chicago (Not for me.)
Dreamgirls (Again not for me.)

The list could keep going, but you get the general idea.

I agree on Signs. That's the only one of his with any replay value. The others are too slow and rely on the twist ending that once you see it, it becomes meaningless on repeat views.

I don't have Avatar yet. I'm waiting on the uber3D special edition quad dip.

I don't have Harry Potter 6 or 7. I'm waiting on the ultimate boxed set.

No bond movies save Casino Royale - again holding for the triple dip.

No Star Trek - waiting on the double dip.

No transformers 2, Fantastic 4 2, they suck. no iron man 2 - was just ok.

For me there are so many. Not really into all the big summer blockbusters. Really could never see myself watching any of the Super hero movies again from start to finish (Ironman, Spiderman, Watchmen, etc). They are fine to catch parts of on cable from time to time but would never actually sit and watch the whole movies again. The only ones I own are the Nolan Batman movies and love the Hellboys. Don't own Transformers, Avatar, Pirates 2 & 3, Matrix 2 & 3, Rambo 2 3 & 4, Rocky 2 3 4 5 6, and many others.
