Default What are Digipaks

Hey, I was wondering what Digipaks are. I know what Digibooks are but not what Digipaks are. Pictures will be helpful if you have them.

Thanks

Yeah basically the only digipaks to exist on bluray were the ones from Criterion.

That's one for example.

Just think of Fight Club special edition, Se7en Special Edition, Kingdom of Heaven Director's Cut, they're all digipaks.

Digipaks result from a clear, polystyrene Digitray being glued onto scored cardboard that can fold in upon itself. Since the tray is clear, the cardboard oftentimes has full-color, full bleed artwork. A Digibook is simply a book that has a Digitray glued into it.

Digipaks always looked nice on the shelf, but they never stood up to much wear once someone opened them and handled the casing. Criterion quickly abandoned them for Blu-ray.

I am glad there is no more use of digipaks as I could not stand them on regular dvds.
