Anyone know this movie??

My parents just through me a curly one .... please read the e-mail below and tell me if you know the movie they are referring to ??

Mum and I have been searching our library for a film on dvd.All that we can remember of the film is of two scenes only.
We cannot identify either the male or female leads.You are our only hope.
The scene depicts a street scene of a number of people, including the two leads dancing in the street, to a 40 style Glenn Miller tune.
The only other scene we remember is of a guy who sees himself as engaged to the female lead with a watermelon.in his arm.
I know it's not much to go on, but we need help !!!!

LOL wow I even used to own that movie on DVD and I didn't place those two scenes, good job! Then again I don't know who Glenn Miller is.
