Does Amazon UK dispatch orders late? - Blu-ray Forum

Hello everyone in the UK or Europe.

I've just ordered the Highlander BD from the Amazon UK for the first time. Although they have confirmed my order for a few days now, I believe they said it will be the 6th January before they would ship out my order. Do they usually take THAT long to ship out an order?

The US store usually ships on the same day they confirm an order.

My experience being in the USA and ordering from Amazon UK is that items are usually shipped within a day or two of the order being placed. However, a recent order of mine with items that are in-stock shows that they're not shipping out 'til next week, and I'm not sure as to why that is, either. Maybe, someone else on here can shed some light on why this might be right now... either on Amazon UK's end or the postal system.

No not usually. Depends if its in stock, if its a national holiday and if they are shipping from their internal sources or external. If its internal its usually quicker. If your order says S.A.R.L somewhere in it then it means its internal.

I can tell you that Amazon.uk are much better at shipping internationally than amazon.com, which takes up to a month or more from previous experience.

Thanks guys. And I hope richieb1971 is right about their UK store's delivery records and stuff. This is my time ordering from them, and I hope the experience is a good one.

About their US store, I have to say I have absolutely NOTHING bad to say about them. They have been very quick with delivery and answering my emails and all so far; and I've been ordering from them since 2000!!!

It's because of the recent price decrease that the Highlander disc is out of stock. But no problems. Amazon UK is great.

I love amazon UK. Have never had an issue with them. Placed my order last Saturday for The Ultimate Bourne Collection and got notice the next day (sunday, yes sunday) that it had been dispatched.

Being from Canada I prefer ordering from them, as they don't automatically charge you for import duties, which is what Amazon US does.

Since I can only see the steelbook listed they state one to two weeks for it. Also amazon is not the best for shipping items during the christmas period (well thats been my past experience).

They are a little late. I ordered Something, something Darkside and Final Destination. Originally they were supposed to come out on the 28th of Dec.
Then "Darkside" was bumped to the 26th. So I changed it to "ship when available" and it was on "shipping soon" from Dec 25th til Dec 28th.. Final Destination even shipped sooner..

But about the problem mention above. I ordered "gone with the Wind" and even though it was "in Stock" the Shipping date was 3 weeks from now.. (That happend in November".. I tried to re-order but it didn't help.. I finally caved and ordered it somewhere else

I have ordered from amazon UK 4 times, 2 times it shipped next day and i got it 3-4 laters, once i got it 2 days later and ordered red cliff on the 22nd and it says it wont be here till jan 4th

i guess it depends?

I LOVE Amazon.UK!! I've ordered from them multiple times any never had any problems with one single disc. They're shipping is actually faster than the U.S and their euro prices are cheaper for us here in Canada than ordering from the U.S

Azyiu, I just got an email saying that my Highlander was canceled because it's now discontinued. You get it too?

Bummer, I was excited about my first steelbook

No but it is very busy this time of the year being Christmas/New Years and the Sales so it isn't surprising to be honest.

Having ordered many times from Amazon UK before, my impression is that they do not have a lot of stock on site. So when a hot title is ordered by many people at the same time, multiple orders get affected by a delay.
