Default Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution

Man this demo is addicting, at first I didn't really know what I was doing and was confused, but now I'm getting the hang of it and thoroughly enjoying it. The controls are simplified over the PC's Civilization counterpart, which can be both good and bad.

If you liked other strategy games such as advance wars or field commander or liked board strategy games like Risk, this is definitely worth checking out. I'll definitely be buying this.

I was quite surprised by it. Ran out of turns and wanted to carry on, I had a global victory and had armies placed all over the place, great how you can merge three lots of warriers into a mini army.... great stuff!!!

I've always loved the Civ stuff..

I really liked how they simplified it for the masses in the demo. Made it a lot more fast paced feeling. Was fun trying to beat the AI before the demo ran out!

I went back and played Civ IV Warlords after the demo to see the difference...

They aren't even the same game at all really. Same concept. Completely different gameplay. Civ IV is SO MUCH more complex. It's like in the CivRev demo they just put everything in Civ IV on 'Automation' and removed all the controls for it.

I was happy to see they put caravans back in CivRev though... I miss caravans in Civ.

Great Demo! I spent over an hour playing this demo. My wife went apeshit because she missed Canadian Idol and our PVR didn't record it. I had to add timeshifting so that I can record it for her later. Man this Demo is addictive. She is snarling at me as I type. Lol! Gotta love her!

I downloaded the demo and have yet to play it. Is it hard to get into at first? I've never played the other Civ games before.

Play on the chieftan version, it gives you hints as you go through the game, it's very easy to get into! It will take a few play throughs to find a play style that fits you. I personally like to build out really quick and get a lot of cities, and then pump my technology. Others build up their armies and conquer cities. There's a lot of different ways to win the game, which is cool about it!

The demo is amazing. I loved trying it out and I am definitely purchasing when launched.

The animations are completely mind blowing for this type of game. It was very unexpected because we usually don't get great animations with this type of game.

I am a huge fan of the original Populous which was the greatest real-time strategy game ever made. Although Civ Rev is turn based, I can see from the Demo that I will enjoy this as mush as I enjoyed Populous.

I loved the Demo but you definitely need the full version with instruction manual to get the full effect of the game.

100% buying this one! Four Stars!

I loved Civ 2 but did not love Civ3 and never tried Civ4. I found that in Civ3 I was being destroyed before I could leave my patch of starter land. Is Revolution or IV better?

I think it is interesting that so many people are military minded...

I have yet to find someone who try's to win by any other means except to see if they can do it.
