Movies you bought but not their sequels?

What is a movie(s) that you bought the first entry in the series but not their sequels? A few examples for me would be Matrix, Poltergeist and Nightmare on Elm Street.

I THINK that's it. I could possibly be forgetting one or two. I know there are a few more, but I'm not going to count those because I still plan to complete them.

I'm a franchise completist. I usually get all the sequels, even the shitty ones. And I watch them all when I marathon a series.

- Honey, I Shrunk the Kids
- John Wick
- Mulan
- Planet of the Apes
- Pumpkinhead
- The Return of the Living Dead

Ones where I have first film and at least one sequel but don't care about the others:
- Batman and Batman Returns
- Captain America and Captain America: The Winter Soldier
- Jurassic Park, The Lost World and Jurassic Park III
- Mission: Impossible and Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation
- The Mummy and The Mummy Returns
- Predator and Predator 2
- The Terminator, Terminator 2 and Terminator 3

The first one that comes to mind, and I only bought the first one on DVD, is The Matrix. Once I saw Reloaded on the big screen, I was done with that franchise for good.

I'm sure there are others, but I need to think about it.

However, lately I've been buying a number of series of films on Blu-ray in box sets. Taken, Mission Impossible, the Oceans movies. I've had the Godfather Collection and Scream set for years now. Thus, I don't really have the ability to ignore later films in a series with these boxes.

Just my opinion.....but you’re selling yourself short not getting the two sequels to this!!

I have quite a few films in my collection where I don't own the sequel(s). The Matrix is one of them, and all of the Terminator films beyond the first two.

I think it'd be be more interesting to discuss the flip side of this... is there any sequel that you've purchased but not the predecessor(s)?

For me I usually get all the sequels but when talking Home Alone, I only have the first two, the other 3 don't exist as far as I'm concerned.
