I believe Decameron Pie (Virgin Territory) is being released on Blu-ray in Italy today. Any idea if this can be played in a Region-A player?

True, but many times they state Region-B or 2 and they will still play on a Region-A player. Only way to know for sure is to test it or find a review...

Decameron Pie: Virgin Territory it's an Eagle Pictures title.

I have the following Eagle Pictures titles:

Il Respiro Del Diavolo - Whisper (Blu Ray)
L'Esorcista La Genesi (Blu Ray)
Timeline (Blu Ray) (1080i50)
Boogeyman - L'uomo Nero (Blu Ray)
Boogeyman 2 - Il Ritorno Dell'Uomo Nero (Blu Ray)

All of them verified to be Region B locked.

So I can assert that the title you're interested in is Region B locked too.

Virgin Territory is being released in the USA (Region A).
