Default LCD 50 Inch Range

What is a good 50-55inch LCD to get for a decent price?

If there is a thread that already exists on this range, please delete it.

This is the TV I own and I love it.

Or if you'd like, here is a cheaper one.

The difference is the 2nd one lacks Samsung's Internet@TV and the contrast ratio is lower by 20k. BUT, you'll save yourself $200.

Sony and Samsung make arguably the best LCDs on the market.

There was a thread up here somewhere that showed a study done and it was talking about the way that the lines of resolution and motion artifacting and motion lag was on TVs and the found that there was no difference between 60hz and 120/240hz TVs. I would put little stock in what its hz refresh rate is.

Look more at the evenness of the black, and the depth of the blacks, clarity of the picture. Samsungs tend to have some of the best black levels and color reproduction. Sony is up there too. I like the looks of Panasonics and Toshibas too. Unfortunately Panasonic doesn't make LCDs above 42".

THIS 52" Sharp LED is probably the best choice for your money coming in at $1549 shipped.

what about at best buy?

Would it be better to wait for 3d or will the price be a lot higher or do you think there will be a lot of bugs?

You can purchase at BB if you want, but typically you can get better deals from amazon and there is typically a bigger selection.

I think just like Plasma and LCD, there price tags will be elevated and yes there are going to be some initial querks with the technology. I highly doubt you will be seeing a 40" 3D HDTV for $750 for a few years. BUT I could be wrong... I haven't seen the pricing yet so....

If you wait a couple of more weeks, I can assure you that there will be a big push for TV's and some great sales as the Super Bowl approaches....Amazon is usually good for doing this in January.....so keep your eyes open.....
